Don’t miss this special net which is designed to help you 1) better understand the true reach and footprint of your station’s signal path, 2) grow your ability to log stations while making direct communications in the event of an emergency, and 3) allow for a little fun on simplex! Within a few days after the net, you will receive a map of all participating stations along with details of the signal reports submitted for your station by all operators! You will also receive guidance for how to use the data to do your own Radio Path Study for your station.
Mark your calendars and join us for check-ins and brief instructions at 8pm on Tuesday (1/21) at 8pm on the K9IIK repeater (145.230 MHZ, -600 kHz input, pl 107.2 Hz). From there, we will migrate to 70cm/UHF for a rollcall followed by a round of transmissions during which all stations will log signal reports to be emailed to net control after the net. This gives us all the opportunity to gauge 70cm simplex signals in the dead of winter when there is little foliage on the trees which gives additional opportunity for radio signal paths. The net has been simplified from a pilot back on Dec 9 and is expected to last between 45-75 minutes depending on the number of participants.
